Connor Barwin willing to take pay cut to stay with Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Connor Barwin said he'd be open to taking a pay cut to stay with the team.
Barwin has two years left on his contract and is due a $7.75 million salary with no guaranteed money left on the deal. He'll be entering his age-31 season and didn't perform all that well during his first year in defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz's 4-3 scheme. Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski expects the Eagles to simply move on in an effort to free up cap room. Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry are the starting ends in Philadelphia.
The Eagles did have the league's second-best defense by opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play, but Barwin's production (5.0 sacks, 6.0 stuffs) was too lacking to justify his many snaps (713).
