Terrelle Pryor likely to receive the Browns' franchise tag

The Cleveland Browns are "very likely" to place the franchise tag on wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

What It Means:

Pryor is the next order of business for Cleveland. La Canfora believes it "would be crazy" for Pryor to sign a contract right now, suggesting he thinks the receiver will cash in as a free agent, but Pryor has already told his agents he wants to stay in Cleveland. It is not out of the question the two sides work out a deal.

Pryor's 0.68 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target ranked 23rd among the 41 wide receivers to see at least 100 targets this year. That's a surprisingly good mark for a receiver who played in the league's seventh-worst passing attack by schedule-adjusted Offensive Passing NEP per play.
