Washington's Rob Kelley underwent knee surgery

Washington running back Rob Kelley underwent surgery on his right knee following Washington's season-ending loss to the New York Giants, Scout.com's Ben Standig reports.

What It Means:

Kelley suffered the injury in Week 16, played with a brace in Week 17, and had the knee operated on shortly after the loss. A source told Standig the surgery was "relatively minor" and "dealt with the meniscus." Kelley's lack of contributions in the passing game will likely lead to more of a split backfield in Washington next season.

Kelley averaged just 3.33 yards per carry over the final six games. Among the 42 rushers to get at least 100 carries this year, his Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt is 25th.
