Packers sign Bene Benwikere to practice squad
The Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Bene Benwikere to the practice squad.
What It Means:
Benwikere hasn't appeared in a regular season game since getting cut by the Carolina Panthers in October. He will likely sign a reserve/future contract once the Packers' playoff run is through. Green Bay's lack of cornerback depth has been a huge problem for them this year, and signing Benwikere is an attempt to remedy that for 2017.
The Packers' secondary ranks 10th-worst in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play in 2016.
