The Miami Dolphins could move linebacker Kiko Alonso to the weak-side role this offseason, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Alonso played in the middle his first year in Miami, but he may be a better fit on the weakside, where his former team, the Buffalo Bills planned to move him as a sophomore before he suffered a season-ending knee injury. The switch would also afford the Dolphins some flexibility as they search for possibly two new starters at linebacker.
In 2016, the Dolphins' defense ranked 18th-best in opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
