Texans intend to bring back A.J. Bouye
The Houston Texans "want [impending free agent cornerback] A.J. Bouye back," head coach Bill O'Brien said.
"Just in talking to people around the league that I really trust, I think he’s viewed as a top corner," O'Brien said. It is tough because Bouye is hitting free agency at the perfect time after a career year in his age-25 season. The corner did say he would like to return to Houston, however, and the Texans have a reasonable amount of cap space for 2017. Along with addressing the quarterback situation, figuring out what to do with Bouye should be one of the Texans' top priorities this offseason.
The Texans came in sixth in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play in 2016.
