Lions believe DeAndre Levy can return to form
The Detroit Lions believe weak-side linebacker DeAndre Levy "can be the same player he was a couple years ago," general manager Bob Quinn said.
Levy has lost most of the past two seasons to injury, but he played well after returning down the stretch. "It looks to me, he was getting healthier and healthier as the weeks went on when he came back," Quinn said. "That’s what we envision." Detroit would not save much by releasing him and has very little talent at linebacker, so making him a cap cut isn't a realistic option.
The Lions defense was the worst in the league by opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
