Steelers could make Antonio Brown league's highest-paid wide receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers could sign wide receiver Antonio Brown to a deal this offseason that would make him the league's highest-paid wide receiver, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

Brown agreed to a contract restructure last year with the expectation that the Steelers would take care of him after the season. Now if it's time for the Steelers to deliver on that promise. Brown is entering the last year of his contract and the Steelers would be wise to lock him up before he hits the open market. A.J. Green is currently the league's highest-paid wide receiver at $15 million a year but Rapoport fully expects Brown to top that.

Antonio Brown had a bit of a "down" 2016, but still posted 109.70 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) on 154 targets. His consistent top-end impact is undeniable, however; he's the only player in the NFL to put up at least 100.00 Reception NEP in each of the last four years.
