Washington pegging Rob Kelley for feature back role in 2017

Washington running back Rob Kelley had a "great, great year," and is expected to be the team's feature back in 2017, head coach Jay Gruden believes.

What It Means:

Kelley started off with a huge three-game stretch as starter, but faded badly down the stretch, averaging 3.33 yards per carry over his final six games. Kelley is also a complete zero in the passing game. Despite Gruden's post-season words, Kelley will probably face some sort of competition, perhaps in the form of another chance for Matt Jones.

Among the 42 rushers to get at least 100 carries this year, Kelley's Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt is 25th.
