Cardinals' David Johnson carted off with severe knee injury

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson left Sunday's Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams with an apparent knee injury.

What It Means:

It looked absolutely gruesome. Johnson had his right leg planted when Rams defensive end Eugene Sims fell hard on his other leg, which bended in the wrong direction. His day and season are almost certainly over, and a lengthy recovery appears imminent. Andre Ellington will handle the backfield duties in his absence.

Johnson earned -1.98 Net Expected Points on his five attempts prior to the injury, per numberFire Live.
