Chargers' Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) inactive for Week 17
The San Diego Chargers declared running back Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) inactive for Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gordon will finish the season a painful three yards short of 1,000, but it was still a successful bounce-back campaign for the 2015 first-rounder. After failing to find the end zone on 217 touches as a rookie, Gordon recorded 12 total scores in just 13 games as a sophomore and surpassed 100 total yards six times. Gordon should open 2017 as the clear lead back in San Diego.
Among the 38 running backs with at least 100 rushing attempts this year, Gordon's Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt is 23rd.
