Buccaneers defend decision to start Jacquizz Rodgers in Week 16
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers "stand by" his decision to feature running back Jacquizz Rodgers in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints.
Koetter also remained noncommittal on the Week 17 status of Doug Martin, who was a healthy scratch. Rodgers managed 78 yards and a touchdown on 17 touches, but Koetter seems to believe he is more effective than Martin as the lead back. Charles Sims continues to operate as a change-of-pace/passing-down specialist.
Rodgers earned 1.84 Net Expected Points (NEP) on 15 rushing attempts in Week 16, per numberFire Live. Sims earned 1.38 NEP on four targets.
