Chiefs glad to rest Justin Houston's sore knee

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he wanted outside linebacker Justin Houston to rest his sore knee Week 16.

What It Means:

Houston reportedly experienced swelling in his surgically-repaired knee last week, so the Chiefs smartly held him out. Kansas City can still jump up to the AFC's second seed, but it would not be surprising if Houston is held out again.

The Chiefs didn't need him after all, as they held the Denver Broncos to -12.41 Net Expected Points on 43 passing attempts in Week 16, per numberFire Live.
