Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer said, "I expect to play in 2017."
Palmer's statement echoes general manager Steve Keim, who said earlier this week he "would be surprised" if Palmer retired after the season. Palmer has had an up-and-down season, but the Cardinals do not have an heir apparent in the pipeline. Finding that quarterback should be one of their top priorities this offseason.
After a top-five season in 2015, Palmer ranks 24th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back, among the 38 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016, entering Week 15.
