Cam Newton (shoulder) and Kelvin Benjamin (back) limited at Panthers' practice
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder) and wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (back) remained limited at Friday's practice.
Newton's shoulder is dinged up but his MRI came back clean and he should be ready to go Monday night against Washington. Cam has completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in four straight games, and the shoulder could be to blame. Benjamin should be fine for Monday night's tilt as well, but is expected to be shadowed by cornerback Josh Norman.
Despite the struggles, Newton is our QB4 this week. We peg him for 220 passing yards, 1.30 touchdowns, and 0.70 interceptions on 32 passing attempts, plus 50 rushing yards and 0.40 touchdowns on 7 rushes. Our algorithms project Benjamin as the 16th-best wide receiver for fantasy this week, with 71 receiving yards and 0.34 touchdowns on 4 catches.
