Doug Martin

Buccaneers not happy with rushing attack

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken indicated Wednesday that he's dissatisfied with the current state of the team's running game.

What It Means:

"We've just got to do it better," Monked declared while stating that Jacquizz Rodgers is going to see more work. "We've got to do a better job on the perimeter blocking. We've got to do a better job up front, a better job seeing the holes." Doug Martin is mustering just 2.9 yards per carry (YPC) since returning from his hamstring injury, and his 3.0 YPC for the season is well below his 4.2 career-average. Charles Sims (knee) is expected to be activated from injured reserve in time for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Our models project Martin for 63 rushing yards and 0.31 touchdowns on 16 carries, as well as 24 receiving yards on 3 catches in Week 14. He's our 22nd-best running back for fantasy this week. For the season, his -0.19 Rushing Net Expected Points per play are worst among the 32 running backs with at least 100 carries.
