Colin Kaepernick will remain 49ers' starter in Week 14
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick will get another start in Week 14 against the New York Jets.
What It Means:
Kaepernick was benched during Week 13 in an abysmal performance in the snow, but he'll be back under center on Sunday against a Jets secondary that was just burnt to a crisp on Monday night. Even though he hasn't been impressive, Kaepernick remains an obvious upgrade over Blaine Gabbert. He'll be a risky streaming option in a plus matchup in Week 14.
Among the 35 quarterbacks with at least 150 dropbacks this season, Kaepernick is just 28th in Passing Net Expected Points per play, but that's still ahead of Gabbert -- who is dead last. As a team, the 49ers are ahead of only the Los Angeles Rams in schedule-adjusted Passing NEP per play this season.
