Seahawks confirm Earl Thomas (leg) will not return this season
Seattle Seahawks defensive back Earl Thomas suffered a broken tibia in Week 13 and has been ruled out for the season, head coach Pete Carroll confirmed.
Thomas went down on a low collision with strong safety Kam Chancellor on Sunday night, in an attempt to intercept a pass. He had to be carried off the field and was later carted off. It's a brutal blow for a Seattle team that has struggled when missing key cogs in the past. Fourth-year undrafted free agent Steven Terrell took over after Thomas went down.
Even without Thomas, the Seahawks' secondary allowed just 1.18 Net Expected Points on 32 passing attempts in Week 13, per numberFire Live.
