Bills defend Tyrod Taylor despite poor play
When asked about Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor's play following Sunday's loss, head coach Rex Ryan said "look, let's just let this play out."
"We feel pretty comfortable with Tyrod," Ryan said. "There's a lot of factors that go into everything." Taylor had a strong first quarter Sunday, but then melted down and the Bills blew a big lead. Taylor's play has started to ebb after a consistent middle stretch of the season. Respected Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia wrote "if it’s me, as of right now, I would be moving on from Taylor." The Bills will owe Taylor $27.5 million if he remains on the roster through the fourth day of the 2017 league year.
Among the 35 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this season, Taylor ranks 22nd in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back.
