Julian Edelman's (foot) injury no longer worries Patriots
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's oft-troublesome foot has "progressed to the point where (the Patriots) would like it to be," the Boston Herald reports.
Howe added, "Don't be surprised if he starts to take off down the stretch," meaning have a big finish. The Patriots certainly need a big finish from Edelman after losing tight end Rob Gronkowski for the season. Edelman's foot has been managed, never turning in full practices and sometimes taking practices off entirely.
Edelman has been a high-volume, low-efficiency receiver for the Patriots in 2016. He ranks 69th in Reception Net Expected Points per target among the 72 wideouts with at least 50 targets to this point in the year.
