Eagles' Ryan Mathews (knee) and Darren Sproles (rib) not practicing Wednesday
Philadelphia Eagles running backs Ryan Mathews (knee) and Darren Sproles (rib) are not practicing Wednesday.
Head coach Doug Pederson has called both Mathews and Sproles "day to day," but that's seeing things through rose-colored glasses. Mathews has a sprained MCL, and Sproles suffered a broken rib in the Week 11 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Rookie Wendell Smallwood remains one of the top adds of the week.
We still project Mathews as the best Eagles back for fantasy this week, but that's not saying much. We project him for 42 yards from scrimmage and 0.34 touchdowns on 9 touches.
