Browns may shut down Cody Kessler (concussion) for 2016

Cleveland Browns quarterback Cody Kessler could be shut down after suffering his second concussion in a month Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Hue Jackson said.

What It Means:

"It's a possibility," said Jackson. "I'm definitely going to talk to our medical staff because this is about a young man's career and future so we have to do the right thing." At the very least, it sounds like Kessler is going to miss some starts, and he could finish the season on injured reserve. Veteran Josh McCown is expected to start this week against the Giants if Kessler is out, but Robert Griffin III is on the road to clearance and looks likely to make a few more starts this season.

Kessler earned 1.57 Net Expected Points on 14 passing attempts in Week 11, per numberFire Live.
