James Laurinaitis to visit Lions on Monday
Free agent linebacker James Laurinaitis will work out for the Detroit Lions on Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Laurinaitis was waived by the New Orleans Saints with an injury settlement last week. A bigger name than talent at this point, Laurinaitis struggled in six games with New Orleans before getting the boot. The Lions have one of the thinnest linebacker corps in the league, so the almost 30-years-old veteran could offer some depth.
The Detroit defense ranked dead last in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play going into Week 11, but facing Blake Bortles always helps. They limited him to -3.29 Passing NEP on 35 attempts in Sunday's victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
