49ers' Torrey Smith (shoulder) unlikely to play Sunday
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith (shoulder) is "unlikely" to play Sunday against the New England Patriots, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Battling shoulder and back problems in recent weeks, Smith was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday but must not have received medical clearance. The 49ers will go with Quinton Patton and Jeremy Kerley as their top-two receivers against New England. Smith has had another disappointing season, but his absence leaves the Patriots with one less theoretical weapon to worry about.
Our models project Kerley as the best fantasy option among the 49ers' wide receivers this week, with 53 receiving yards and 0.25 touchdowns on 4 receptions.
