DuJuan Harris due for more work in 49ers' backfield

San Francisco 49ers running back DuJuan Harris has "earned more opportunities," believes offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins.

What It Means:

Harris was a surprising leader of the 49ers' backfield committee in Week 7 with Carlos Hyde (shoulder) sidelined, rushing 11 times for 39 yards while catching a pair of passes as well. Hyde is expected to be back on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, but it sounds like Harris has supplanted Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis as the primary backup in San Francisco.

Harris is second on the team with -0.19 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Hyde is first at -0.01 Rushing NEP.
