Buccaneers don't cut Johnthan Banks after all, deal him to Detroit
The Detroit Lions acquired cornerback Johnthan Banks from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a seventh-round pick in 2018.
On Monday, it was reported that the Buccaneers were waiving Banks. It turns out they were able to trade him for a future seventh-rounder. He will join former Mississippi State teammate Darius Slay in Detroit, who is currently dealing with a hamstring injury.
The Lions rank dead last in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play. Tampa Bay checks in at 23rd.
