Jay Cutler (thumb) unlikely to be with Bears in 2017
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs doesn't expect the Bears to retain Jay Cutler for the 2017 season.
Cutler is a virtual lock to be released, which would clear $14 million in cap space. Cutler is 33 and probably has a handful of years left in him, but it's not going to be in Chicago. The Bears will look to draft their future passer.
Among the 38 quarterbacks with at least 50 drop backs through Week 7, Cutler's -0.22 Passing Net Expected Points per play ranks dead last.
