Kevin Hogan lackluster in relief of Cody Kessler for Browns
Cleveland Browns quarterback Kevin Hogan completed 12 of his 24 passes for 100 yards and two interceptions in the Browns' Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hogan added 104 rushing yards and one touchdown. Cody Kessler was concussed in the first half, forcing Hogan into quarterback duties. The only offense Cleveland had was using Hogan and running back Isaiah Crowell on read-option plays, which had the Bengals' baffled early. Cincinnati eventually figured it out, and Hogan collapsed in the second half. If Kessler can't get cleared, Hogan will be under center against the New York Jets in Week 8.
Before leaving, Kessler was 9-of-11 passing for 82 yards, earning 4.41 Net Expected Points (NEP), per numberFire Live. Hogan earned -5.78 NEP on his 24 passes and 8.21 NEP on his 7 rushes.
