Buccaneers send Vincent Jackson to injured reserve with torn ACL
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.
The injury occurred during the Buccaneers' Monday night victory over the Carolina Panthers back in Week 5. Jackson didn't realize he suffered the injury until after the game, and he has likely played his last down in Tampa Bay. He turns 34 in January. Adam Humphries steps in as one of the more underwhelming number-two receivers in the league.
Among the 61 wide receivers with at least 30 targets through the first six weeks of this NFL season, Jackson ranks 53rd in Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target. Humphries is just behind him at 54th.
