Bilal Powell severely out-snaps Matt Forte in Jets' backfield Monday night

New York Jets running back Matt Forte played 21-of-54 snaps Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals.

What It Means:

That's only 38.9 percent of the action, compared to 39 snaps (72.2 percent) for Bilal Powell. This mostly had to do with the game script, as the Jets were playing catch up for the majority of the night, but Forte has now been out-snapped in two of the last three games. In the past four contests, Powell has seen 27 targets, compared to only 12 for his veteran backfield mate. The schedule should ease up a bit for Forte and the Jets, but the preseason concerns about losing the passing-down work to Powell have come to fruition.

Of the 11 backs to log at least 100 carries this season, Forte ranks seventh in Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP), and eighth in Rushing NEP per play. On Monday night, he finished last on the Jets with -2.38 Rushing Net Expected Points, mustering just 19 yards on 9 carries.
