Patriots expected to take it slow with Dion Lewis (knee)
The New England Patriots could "proceed cautiously" with running back Dion Lewis (knee, PUP), believes MassLive's Kevin Duffy.
Lewis will officially be eligible to return in Week 7, but his status has largely been kept in the dark since undergoing a "clean-up" surgery in late August. New England has their bye in Week 9, and a return following that seems most likely, but everything is pure speculation. The caution the Patriots displayed with Rob Gronkowski could be a possible blueprint for how they will handle Lewis' return.
Our models currently expect Lewis to return in Week 7, and we project him to rush 100 times for 422 yards and 3.06 touchdowns on the season, adding another 26 catches for 226 yards and 0.36 touchdowns through the air.
