Eric Decker

Jets accept the inevitable, send Eric Decker (shoulder) to injured reserve

New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker was placed on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff.

What It Means:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Decker will likely need season-ending surgery. He can be released onto fantasy waivers with no hesitation. Quincy Enunwa's season-long value is now more stable, as he and Brandon Marshall should see the bulk of the targets in the Jets' passing game. Robby Anderson will continue to serve as Ryan Fitzpatrick's third receiver.

The Jets currently rank 25th in Adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Among the 81 receivers with at least 20 targets on the year, Decker ranks an impressive 16th in Reception NEP per target. Enunwa is 43rd, while Marshall checks in at 50th under those same terms.
