Karlos Williams joins Steelers' practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed running back Karlos Williams to their practice squad.

What It Means:

Williams' four-game suspension ended last week, and while he was expected to work out for the same Buffalo Bills team that cut him over the summer, the Bills ended up cancelling the workout. DeAngelo Williams has been the primary backup to Le'Veon Bell in Pittsburgh, but he's currently dealing with a knee injury that may have prompted this move. He's not worth adding right now, but Karlos could wind up being the Steelers' number-two back to start the 2017 season.

A talented runner, Williams scored nine touchdowns on just 104 offensive touches during his rookie campaign. Among the 72 running backs with at least 50 rushes in 2015, his 0.27 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt ranked first.
