Bills' Sammy Watkins does not need second surgery on foot
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins doesn't need a second surgery on his foot, Dr. Robert Anderson determined.
He simply needs rest and rehab, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports a late-season return is possible. Watkins was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 4 and can return in six more weeks at the earliest. In his absence, wide receiver Robert Woods and tight end Charles Clay have led the Bills in targets.
Despite Watkins' absence, the Bills have sustained an above-average offense, ranking 13th in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play through five weeks.
