Charles Sims

Charles Sims (knee) surprisingly lands on Buccaneers' injured reserve

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Charles Sims (knee) was placed on injured reserve (IR).

What It Means:

Sims was always a longshot to play against the Carolina Panthers Monday night, but a stint on the IR never seemed like a possibility. The injury didn't sound too serious, but now it's unknown if Sims will even return this season in what is quickly becoming a lost season in Tampa Bay. He struggled carrying the load in Doug Martin's (hamstring) absence, but remains an elite pass-catching back and great PPR value. Jacquizz Rodgers is now the lead back until Martin returns, and he'll maintain Sims' pass-catching role for at least eight weeks.

Our models currently project Rodgers to rush 12 times for 37 yards and 0.44 touchdowns Monday night, adding 3 catches for 20 yards.
