Panthers anticipate they'll know Cam Newton's (concussion) status by weekend
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's (concussion) status for Week 5 should be known by the end of the week, expects head coach Ron Rivera.
The Panthers play Monday night, so the "end of the week" will likely come Saturday when the team has to issue their final injury report. Fortunately, this means owners should know Newton's status prior to Sunday's first slate of games.
If he plays, Newton is our top fantasy quarterback for the week. Our algorithms project him to throw for 237 passing yards, 1.76 touchdowns and 0.51 interceptions on 31 passing attempts, as well as 46 rushing yards and 0.57 touchdowns on 8 attempts in Week 5.
