Bobby Rainey leads the Giants with seven receptions in loss to Vikings
New York Giants running back Bobby Rainey was targeted 9 times on Monday, recording 7 receptions for 43 yards while adding 22 yards on 4 carries as the Giants fell to the Minnesota Vikings.
With Shane Vereen and Rashad Jennings out, there was a lot of work available in the Giants' backfield that he shared with Orleans Darkwa this week. Rainey played more snaps than Darkwa, and his passing game prowess makes him likely to retain a role filling in for Shane Vereen, even when Jennings returns.
Rainey didn't turn in a particularly efficient game Monday, posting 1.39 Reception Net Expected Points, good for only fifth on the team.
