Packers won't have Jared Cook (ankle) Week 5 versus Giants
Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook (ankle) will not play in Week 5 against the New York Giants, reports ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky.
Cook is apparently dealing with a high ankle sprain and was spotted on crutches Monday morning, with Demovsky adding that the ankle "still looked swollen." Richard Rodgers will slide in as the top tight end for Green Bay, while Cook is now waiver wire fodder for most leagues.
Rodgers has actually been more efficient than Cook to start the season, with 6.16 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) on 8 targets, to only a 2.51 Reception NEP on 11 targets for Cook.
