Ryan Mathews (ankle) should be healthy for Eagles' Week 5
Philadelphia Eagles running back Ryan Mathews (ankle) is expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
ESPN's Adam Caplan reports Mathews' potential workload remains an open question, however. Ineffective as he struggles through his latest lingering injury, Mathews will almost certainly be used in a committee with Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles.
Smallwood has been the most efficient Eagles running back, ranking first in Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt among the 39 running backs with at least 20 attempts through Week 3. Mathews is fifth by this metric.
