Jacoby Brissett (thumb) to start for Patriots, Jimmy Garoppolo out
New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett will start Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Jimmy Garoppolo was expected to have his shoulder "evaluated" Sunday morning. That evaluation apparently did not go well, and Garoppolo will be inactive against Buffalo. The Patriots are likely to be very conservative with Brissett under center. Wide receiver Julian Edelman will serve as the emergency quarterback. Garoppolo needed a shot just to get through practice this week and took about half his usual reps.
Our algorithms project Brissett for 186 passing yards, 1.01 touchdowns, and 0.50 interceptions on 27 attempts in Week 4. He's not a fantasy consideration.
