Browns say they're 'moving on' from Josh Gordon 'chapter'

When asked about suspended WR Josh Gordon on Friday, coach Hue Jackson said, "We're moving on. We need to close that chapter right now."

What It Means:

Gordon would have been eligible to return from his four-game suspension on Monday, but he checked into rehab Thursday, leaving his future football-playing status in doubt. At this point, it would be surprising to see Gordon on the field for any team in 2016.

Prior to the news, Gordon was projected to finish the 2016 season with 68 receptions for 854 yards receiving and 3.85 touchdowns. The majority of that production will likely go to Terrelle Pryor, with rookie first-round pick Corey Coleman (hand) also seeing a fair chunk when he returns from injury. We previously expected Pryor to record 701 receiving yards and 2.79 touchdowns on 52 catches over the remainder of the year.
