Dolphins expressing cautious optimism about Arian Foster
The Miami Dolphins are "cautiously optimistic" about Arian Foster's (groin) Week 3 status, reports ESPN's Dan Graziano.
Foster is unlikely to practice Wednesday, but that has been the status quo for the 30-year-old back this season. There probably won't be any clarity on the situation until the weekend approaches, and even then we could be looking at a game-time call. Owners should prepare as if Foster won't be available for Week 3. Jay Ajayi, Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams would form a platoon in Miami's backfield in the likely event Foster is inactive.
Among the 42 backs to rush at least 15 times this season, Foster ranks 32nd in Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
