Rams promote first overall pick Jared Goff to backup duties
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been upgraded to number two on the quarterback depth chart.
What It Means:
"He's excited," says head coach Jeff Fisher. Goff surpassed Sean Mannion on the depth chart and remains behind Case Keenum, so he should probably temper that excitement. Goff goes from street clothes to clipboard duties and is one step closer to stepping under center for the Rams once Keenum inevitably plays his way to the bench.
Keenum's -15.46 Passing Net Expected Points were by far the worst in the league in Week 1, and only one other quarterback posted a mark below -4.00. The Rams face the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.
