Cecil Shorts agrees to one-year deal with Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent wide receiver Cecil Shorts to a one-year contract.
Shorts will likely immediately serve as the Buccaneers' third receiver, taking over in the slot. The wideout is only 28, but has shown a proneness for soft-tissue injuries. With Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson controlling the lion's share of targets for a Tampa Bay offense that is expected to feature the run this season, Shorts doesn't make for much of a fantasy factor.
Shorts had 0.44 Net Expected Points per Target in 2015 for the Houston Texans, which ranked him 52nd among the 54 wide receivers who had at least 75 targets last season.
