Matt Jones 'feels awesome,' expects to play for Washington Week 1
Washington running back Matt Jones (shoulder) said he "feels awesome" after returning to practice Monday and expects to play Week 1.
Head coach Jay Gruden said Jones will participate in a full-contact session later this week after the sophomore back donned a non-contact jersey at Monday's practice. Undrafted rookie Rob Kelley has earned a role, but barring any setbacks, Jones should be good to go Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Our models project Jones to carry the ball 11 times for 39 yards and 0.22 touchdowns in Week 1, adding 24 yards and 0.17 scores on 3 catches through the air.
