Texans cut Cecil Shorts
The Houston Texans have released wide receiver Cecil Shorts after just one year with the Texans.
Shorts was only due $1.2 million this season, but the Texans drafted two receivers this past spring with third-round pick Braxton Miller taking over Shorts' slot duties this season. Shorts will likely get some calls from other teams, but injuries limited him to just 11 games in 2015. He has also never played a full 16-game season in his career.
Shorts had 0.44 Net Expected Points per Target in 2015 for the Texans, which ranked him 52nd among wide receivers who had at least 75 targets.
