Vikings' Teddy Bridgewater suffers 'significant' injury Tuesday
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridewater's knee injury is "significant," confirmed head coach Mike Zimmer.
Per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the injury was "gruesome" and Bridgewater's teammates were "noticeably affected," with some reportedly puking on the field. The picture being painted evokes memories of the horrifying injuries suffered by Kevin Ware and Paul George in years past. Paramedics and longtime observers on scene apparently witnessed something they had never seen before. The question appears to be whether or not Bridgewater will be ready for the beginning of the 2017 season. Test results will provide official details, but the range of possibilities for the injury include anything from a torn ACL to a ruptured patellar tendon. Shaun Hill is the presumed starter for now, but Colin Kaepernick could be a potential candidate to come in for the Vikings at quarterback.
The Vikings offense ranked 20th in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points in 2015, and with Bridgewater done for the season, that number will likely worsen in 2016.
