Chiefs' Justin Houston to begin season on PUP
The Kansas City Chiefs have placed outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.
The Chiefs are hopeful that Houston will be able to return during the season, and he will be eligible as early as Week 8. He underwent surgery to repair his ACL in February, and there is still a chance the 27-year-old is forced to sit out the entire season.
Losing Houston is a big blow, but the Chiefs defense is a strong unit that ranked fifth in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points last season, and they should remain stout even in his absence.
