Tony Romo

Tony Romo could resume training for Cowboys in three weeks

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (back) could resume training in as little as three weeks, MMQB's Albert Breer reports.

What It Means:

According to Breer, Romo avoided any ligament damage in his back, resulting in a three-to-six week timetable to resume training. The Cowboys bye comes in Week 7, so the veteran quarterback may be aiming for a return the following Sunday for a divisional road matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Rookie fourth-round preseason star Dak Prescott will be the starter in Dallas until Romo is back under center.

Our algorithms project Prescott for 1,535 passing yards, 7.85 touchdowns and 6.06 interceptions on 227 passing attempts, as well as 102 rush yards and 0.76 touchdowns on 23 attempts. This is based on Prescott starting six games, but this is a very fluid situation, depending on Romo's health.
