Tyler Ervin works as Texans' backup behind Lamar Miller
Houston Texans rookie Tyler Ervin was the second back behind Lamar Miller in the Texans' third preseason game.
This marks the second time this preseason that Ervin has spelled Miller in Houston's backfield, logging more snaps with the first team on Saturday than Alfred Blue or any other back not named Lamar Miller. He turned in two rushes for 13 yards and added a 20-yard catch. In the event that Miller has to miss time this season, Ervin would likely see the bulk of touches for the Texans.
Our models continue to project Ervin behind both Blue and Miller in Houston's backfield, pegging him with season-long production of 22 carries for 89 rushing yards and 13 catches for 112 receiving yards, with a combined 0.77 touchdowns.
